권기범 KWON KIBEOM
권기범은 한국의 시각 예술가이다. 그의 작품은 현대 미술의 다양한 실험적 스펙트럼을 가지고 있다. 섬세하고 감각적인 연필 그림, 역사적 공간의 실험적인 사진 작업, 대형 벽화 드로잉 설치물 등 그의 모든 작업들은 동시대 미술의 비규정성과 실험성에 초점이 맞추어져 있다.
특히 작가는 최근 복잡하고 정교한 연필 드로잉 작업을 통해 형상과 의미의 모호성에 관심을 가지고 있다. 조합된 형상의 드로잉들은 존재의 모호함과 불확실성에 대해 관객에게 질문을 던진다.
작가는 과거의 기억 속에 존재했던 사물, 식물, 풍경과 인물의 파편들을 여러 가지 상상의 조합을 통해 규정지어지지 않는 낯선 형상들로 그려내고 있다. 이런 형상들은 조형의 해체와 결합을 통해 모호한 이미지를 만들어낸다. 그의 작업 속에는 꽃, 정물, 인간과 상징체 등 다양한 이미지가 존재한다. 하지만 자세히 살펴보면 그 이미지는 많은 선과 면들의 주관적 해석, 개인의 경험을 통해 사물을 인지하는 형상의 재현이 중요하다는 것을 깨닫게 된다. 작가는 기억 속 편린들을 지속적으로 묘사하지만 이들의 조합과 관계 속에서 또 다른 의미와 상징으로 존재하는 비규정성의 메시지를 암시한다.
Kwon Kibeom is a Korean visual artist whose practice spans diverse experimental approaches in contemporary art, ranging from delicate pencil drawings to photography in historical spaces and large-scale mural installations. Across media, his work consistently explores indeterminacy and the open-ended nature of artistic expression.
In recent years, he has focused on intricate pencil drawings that examine the ambiguity of form and meaning. Using fragments of objects, plants, landscapes, and human figures preserved in memory, he recombines them into unfamiliar composite forms that resist fixed definition, inviting reflection on uncertainty and unstable perception.
Through deconstruction and recombination, images such as flowers, still lifes, figures, and symbolic forms emerge, yet the works emphasize subjective interpretation. Reassembled through lines and planes, remembered fragments form new relationships, producing shifting meanings and new symbols shaped by indeterminacy.
