The First K-Culture Conference discusses on the Government's Role for a Sustainable Korean Wave

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister HWANG Hee, MCST) together with the Korea Tourism Organization (President AHN Young-bae, KTO) will be hosting the “First K-Culture Conference” on Wednesday April 27 at 2pm under the theme of “The Spirit of the Times as Reflected in K-Culture: Policy Initiatives for a Sustainable Korean Wave.”

Middle and High Schools Wear Hanbok As School Uniforms

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister HWANG Hee, MCST) together with the Ministry of Education (Minister YOO Eun-hae, MOE) recruit 12 additional middle and high schools from April 21 (Thu) to Jun 30 (Thur) to adopt Hanbok (Korean traditional clothes) as a school uniform. Those schools intend to apply for the project of wearing Hanbok as a school uniform will be able to submit their application from June 7 (Tue) to June 30 (Thur) 5PM.

Launching Ceremony for 2021 Summer Deaflympics held at Olympic Parktel Hotel on April 18

The Inaugural Ceremony for the Korean national team to participate in the ‘24th Summer Olympic Games (Deaflympics)’ was held at the Olympic Parktel Olympia Hall in Seoul on April 18 (Mon). The 24th Games will be held in Caxias do Sul, Brazil from May 1 (Sun) to May 15 (Sun) for 15 days. This Game was originally scheduled to be hosted in 2021, which was postponed for one year due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Gangneung Selected as the First City for “Barrier-free” Tourism City Project

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister HWANG Hee, MCST) together with the Korea Tourism Organization (CEO AHN Young-bae, KTO) selected Gangneung City as the first “Barrier-free tourism city” project. The “Barrier-free tourism city” project, promoted for the first time this year, will lay the ground for all tourists, including the disabled, the elderly, pregnant women, families with infants to travel without restrictions on transportation and facilities and access information. The project focuses on strengthening the link between tourist attractions and facilities such as accommodation, food and beverage, and shopping through introducing and applying barrier-free tourist transportation and collaborating with private facilities.

South Korea, Guest of Honor at '2022 Bogota International Book Fair(FILBo)’

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister HWANG Hee, MCST) together with the Korean Publishers Association (KPA, President YOON Chul Ho), the Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea (KPIPA, KIM Junhee), the Literature Translation Institute of Korea (LTI, President, KWAK Hyo Hwan), the Gwacheon National Science Museum (GNSM, President YI Jeongmo), and the Korean Cultural Center in Mexico (KCCM, Director PARK Youngdoo) will organize and run Guest of Honor Pavilion at ‘2022 Bogota International Book Fair’ from April 19 (Tue) to May 2 (Mon).
