Every Wednesday Becomes “Culture Day” Starting in April

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that the proposed amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Framework Act on Culture was approved at a Cabinet meeting on March 3. The amendment expands Culture Day from the current last Wednesday of every month to every Wednesday. Following a preparatory period after promulgation, the revised system will officially take effect on April 1, 2026.

2025 Hallyu Expands Beyond Music to Literature, Film, Tourism, and Consumer Spending

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister CHAE Hwi-young, MCST), in cooperation with the Korea Culture Information Service Agency (KCISA), released the “2025 Global Hallyu Trend Analysis Report Based on Foreign Media and Social Data.” The report collected and analyzed approximately 1.5 million foreign media articles and social media data from 30 countries between October 2024 and September 2025.

Korean Athletes Return Home in Triumph After Stellar Performance at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) CHAE Hwi-young will welcome the Korean national team returning from the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 at Incheon International Airport on February 24. Minister CHAE will present bouquets to the athletes, expressing appreciation and gratitude for their passion and determination during the Games. At the same time, Chef de Mission LEE Soo-kyung will report on the team’s overall results.
