MCST and WIPO Open a New 20-Year Chapter of Copyright Cooperation

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the “Ceremony Marking the 20th Anniversary of WIPO–MCST Funds-in-Trust Partnership in Copyright” on July 8 at the headquarters of the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. The ceremony was attended by delegations from 194 member states, and First Vice Minister Kim Young-soo delivered the opening address as the MCST representative.

Craft Enters Everyday Life: “Traveling Craft Masterpieces Exhibition” Opens Its Nationwide Tour

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Craft & Design Foundation will host the “Traveling Craft Masterpieces Exhibition,” a touring craft exhibition program, from July 2026 to February 2027. To help close regional cultural gaps, the MCST operates the “Coming to My Town!” program, which supports the staging of popular performances and exhibitions across the region. This year, as part of the newly planned program, the “Traveling Craft Masterpieces Exhibition” brings craft exhibitions—previously concentrated in the capital area—to local regions, so people can enjoy them close to home.

Approximately 56,000 Domestic and International Visitors Enjoy “2026 MyK FESTA”

The “2026 MyK FESTA,” where visitors could experience the full spectrum of K-Culture—covering K-pop, content, beauty, food, fashion, and lifestyle—successfully concluded after being held from June 25 to 28 at KINTEX and SONO Calm GOYANG in Goyang, drawing approximately 56,000 domestic and international visitors, including around 18,000 international tourists. This exceeded last year’s turnout of approximately 46,000 visitors, highlighting the increasing popularity of the event, now in its second year.

Experience the Beauty of Korea at the “2026 Korea Beauty Festival”

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the Korea Tourism Organization, will hold the “2026 Korea Beauty Festival” at HiKR Ground from June 24 to July 19. One of the things international visitors to Korea are most curious about is K-beauty, and this festival—held for about a month at HiKR Ground in front of Cheonggyecheon Stream—offers a firsthand look at K-beauty. Now in its third year, the Korea Beauty Festival centers on the theme of K-beauty and directly targets international tourists.
