The Blue House Now Becomes a Venue for Literary Exhibition from Dec 22

The Chunchugwan (Blue House), the place where the first exhibition by the disabled artists was held in September, now becomes a place for Literary Exhibition to welcome visitors. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) together with the National Museum of Korean Literature, Samseong Museum of Publishing, and YongIn Museum of Literature will hold A Special Exhibition on “YI Sang, YEOM Sang-seop, HYUN Jin-geon, YUN Dong-ju, Wander Cheong Wa Dae” at the second floor of the Chuchugwan[1] from December 22 (Thur) to January 16 (Mon) next year.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) together with the Korea Tourism Organization (President KIM Jang-sil, KTO) selected and announced the “2023-2024 Top 100 Korean Tourism Attractions” as Korea’s representative tourist attractions. “2023-2024 Top 100 Korea Tourism destinations”, marking its 6th anniversary this year, is a project that selects and promotes Korea’s tourist destinations every two years that Koreans and foreign tourists worth visiting.

Voices of Young Generations to Be Actively Reflected to Reinforce Korea’s Cultural Allure

The more extensive participation of the younger generations in their 20s and 30s in establishing policies aimed at building a nation with dynamic cultural charm is being facilitated through the launch of the MCST 2030 Advisory Panel. The Panel, consisting of 21 members, will begin on its mission in earnest with the launching ceremony held at The Theater Pan of the National Theater Company of Korea on December 5 and attended by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism PARK Bo Gyoon. The members of the Panel will deliver the needs of the front lines of the industries they are involved in and propose new policies and improvement points for existing projects from young perspectives.

Six cities have been designated as the 4th Cultural Cities Aiming to establish a turning point for city growth

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) designated six regions - Gochang-gun, Dalseong-gun, Yeongwol-gun, Metropolitan City of Ulsan, City of Uijeongbu, and Chilgok-gun - as 4th Cultural Cities (names of the regions in Korean alphabetical order) according to the Regional Culture Promotion Act after deliberations by the Cultural City Deliberation Committee (Head of the Committee: JEONG Gap-yeong, CCDC).

Achievements of Storytelling Grandmas (Silver Storytelling Artists) was Shared and Celebrated

The 2022 Storytelling Grandma (Silver Storytelling Artist) Day celebration was held on December 7 at the Lee Byeong-hyeong Hall of the War Memorial of Korea jointly by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) and the Korean Studies Institute (Director JEONG Jong-seop, KSI). The event shared the achievements of the project participants scheduled to complete their activities and sent support for those newly undertaking the task after their training. This celebration was streamed via YouTube to minimize on-site attendees to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
