The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) together with the Korea Tourism Organization (President KIM Jang-sil, KTO) held the first K-Tourism Roadshow in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka, three of Japan’s major cities, from February 14 (Tue) to February 17 (Fri) to celebrate the 20th year of hallyu there.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) together with the Korean Intellectual Property Office (Director LEE In-sil, KIPO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (Secretary General Daren TANG, WIPO), and the Korea Development Institute (KDI) signed MoU on Master's Course in Intellectual Property Development Policy (MIPD) in Seoul on February 9 (Thur). This is the second signing of the agreement as the validation period of the business agreement signed by the KIPO, WIPO, KDI Graduate School of Public Policy and Management, and Sejong City expired in 2019.

From Korean traditional liquor to craft beer, the new book to spread the charm of Korean alcoholic drinks to the world

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) and the Korea Culture and Information Service (KOCIS) published an English book “Hidden Charms of Korea: SOOL”, to introduce Korean alcoholic drinks to foreigners. This 112-page book introduces Korean unique drinks and drinking culture that are not yet well known to the global K-culture fans, and Korean food that goes well with it. The book also shows about Korean drinking culture as well as traditional liquors such as Munbaeju and Gamhongro , as well as diluted soju known as “green bottle” to foreigners and unique craft beer.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) and King Sejong Institute Foundation (Chairperson LEE Haiyoung, KSIF) officially launched Metaverse King Sejong Institute (http://ksif.zep.site) this year. To celebrate the launch of the opening, the opening event was held on February 7 (Tue) at the Multi Content Testbed (Seoul), which was joined by CHOI Su-ji, Youth Policy Advisor at the MCST, 2030 Advisory Board, and broadcasters Daniel Lindemann (Germany), Alberto Mondi (Italy), and Lucky (India), who are public relations ambassadors for the Foundation.

A hundred events will add to the joy of traveling around Korea and create a space where tourists and local citizens can mingle so that visitors to Korea from all around the world can fully enjoy the charm of K-culture. To fulfill the national goal of “Happiness for the Korean People through Travel, Growth for Korea through Tourism,” the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), in partnership with the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), designated 2023-2024 Visit Korea Year. As part of this effort, the MCST and KTO selected K-Culture Tourism Event 100 to invite foreign tourists to enjoy fascinating K-culture in diverse spheres, such as culture, arts, content, sports, games, food and architecture. One hundread places to visit also named as “100 K-CHARMS” is the list of places foreigners can visit and experience Korean culture, under the sub-themes of Creative culture, Healing power, Artistic excellence, Rich heritage, Music festivals, and Sports.
