Korean Cultural Center Directors across the world to build their competency as “Sales Representatives” for K-content and K-tourism

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) hosts the 2023 conference joined by the Overseas Korean Cultural Center Director and Cultural Promotion officials at the KOCIS Center (Seoul) from March 14 (Tue) to 17 (Fri). The conference was joined by 28 Korean Cultural Center directors and five Cultural Promotion officials who promoted and raised awareness on Korean culture (K-culture) in 29 countries worldwide.

The MCST to join FILMART in Hong Kong, rekindling the export of K-dramas and variety shows to the Greater China region

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (President Jo Hyun-rae, KOCCA) joined FILMART[1] in Hong Kong from March 13 (Mon) to 16 (Thur). On this year’s FILMART, which was held face-to-face for the first time in four years, the ministry opened the Korea Pavilion to rekindle the export of Korean TV dramas and variety shows to the Greater China region.

MCST and MSS to work with Cities of Culture and local creators to build “cities that make people want to stay”

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Park Bo Gyoon, MCST) and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister LEE Young, MSS) held the first policy talk show at Blue Port 2021 in Yeongdo-gu (Busan) on March 9 (Thur) to discuss cooperation in implementing the “city of culture” policy to promote balanced cultural development led by local communities and the “local creator policy” to build the spontaneous and creative capabilities of local communities.

Gwanghwa Sidae reborn into “K-Culture Square,” a beacon for the power of culture

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (President JO Hyun-rae, KOCCA) transformed “Gwanghwa Sidae”, an interdisciplinary space for experiencing cultural content, into “K-Culture Square” to serve as a beacon for the power of culture. K-Culture Square is built in the Gwanghwamun area to exhibit interdisciplinary content powered by new technologies, including three-dimensional (3D) media art pieces featuring Korea’s attractive cultural resources, and provide Korean and international visitors with cultural experiences.

Yongin city, Inje county, and Tongyeong city named 2023 Smart Tourism Cities to fill “bucket lists” for the Korean tourism sector

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) and the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) selected three regions for the 2023 Smart Tourism City program to fill out the Korean tourism sector’s “bucket list.” The “Smart Tourism City Development Program” aims to combine technology with tourism elements to develop unique and attractive tourism resources while organically linking and promoting local tourism destinations so anyone can easily access tourism services.
