- From June 15 to July 14, online booking discounts on express and intercity buses for international tourists—offered together with Klook and GO Hanpass—to promote online booking platforms and boost regional tourism
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister CHAE Hwi-young, MCST), together with the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), will offer international tourists discounts on nationwide express and intercity bus ticket bookings from June 15 (Monday) to July 14 (Tuesday), in cooperation with the international travel platforms Klook and GO Hanpass, to boost regional tourism.
Promoting Express Bus Booking on Klook and Express/Intercity Bus Booking on GO Hanpass
One of the major difficulties international tourists face when traveling outside Seoul has been the inconvenience of using intercity transportation. According to statistics from the Korea Bus Terminal Association, the number of foreign users in the first quarter of 2026 reached approximately 382,000—a 32.2% increase from the first quarter of 2025 (approximately 289,000)—following the full introduction of foreign-issued credit cards in July 2024. However, low awareness of the online booking platforms for express and intercity buses among foreign travelers continued to cause considerable inconvenience. In response, on May 29, the MCST and the KTO produced multilingual transportation information content and distributed it through channels such as VISITKOREA, the overseas promotional platform for Korean tourism. This time, they plan to actively promote online booking platforms for express and intercity buses by providing tangible discounts.
This initiative is being carried out as a cooperative initiative to improve transportation convenience for international tourists through the “Tourism Transportation Public-Private Consultative Body[1]” operated by the MCST and the KTO. Klook, a participating company in the consultative body, will offer discount benefits through its express bus booking service, while GO Hanpass will provide benefits through its intercity and express bus booking services.
KRW 5,000 Discount Vouchers, Additional KRW 4,000 Discounts, Travel eSIMs, and More on Offer
Specifically, the KTO will offer a KRW 5,000 discount voucher that can be used immediately at the time of booking, while GO Hanpass will provide an additional KRW 4,000 discount of its own. Klook will further enhance travel convenience for international tourists by offering a free travel eSIM to users who book tickets through its platform.
