The 107th National Winter Sports Festival (“Winter Sports Festival”), sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister CHAE Hwi-young, MCST), hosted by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (President RYU Seung-min, KSOC), and organized by Gangwon State, will be held from February 25 (Wednesday) to 28 (Saturday) across Gangwon State, Seoul, and Gyeongsangbuk-do.

A total of 4,380 participants (2,797 athletes and 1,583 officials and staff) from 17 cities and provinces will compete to showcase their skills under the slogan “A Special Winter in Gangwon, Bringing Korea Together!” The eight official sports are: skating (speed skating, short track, and figure skating); skiing (alpine, cross-country, snowboard, and freestyle); ice hockey; curling; biathlon; bobsleigh and skeleton; mountaineering; and luge.

Competitions will take place across multiple venues, including Alpensia Resort (Ski Area, Biathlon Centre, and Sliding Centre), Yongpyong Resort, and Phoenix Park in Pyeongchang, Chuncheon Songam Sports Town Ice Rink in Chuncheon, and Gangneung Hockey Centre and Gangneung Curling Centre in Gangneung, as well as Taereung International Ice Rink in Seoul and Cheongsong Ice Valley Ice Climbing World Cup Stadium in Cheongsong, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Notably, a number of national team athletes who competed at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 will participate in this year’s Winter Sports Festival, including YU Seung-eun (women’s snowboard big air bronze medalist), continuing the momentum of the Winter Olympics. All competitions are open to the public free of charge.
