Every Wednesday, Culture Enters Everyday Life

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will expand “Culture Day,” previously held on the last Wednesday of each month, to every Wednesday starting April 1, making it easier for the public to experience culture in their daily lives. To mark the occasion, the MCST held a commemorative performance at Seoul Station on April 1 under the slogan “Wednesday Is Culture Day—Let’s Enjoy Culture!”

K-Culture Expands Beyond Food and Beauty into Characters, Performances, and Other Convergence Content

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, released the results of the 2026 Overseas Hallyu Survey, conducted among individuals in 30 overseas regions who have consumed Korean cultural content. This year’s survey expanded its scope by adding countries, such as Singapore, Chile, and Poland, and increasing the sample size to 27,400 respondents. In addition, new questions on the experience rate and popularity of characters and performances (excluding K-pop) were introduced, reflecting the broadening scope of the Hallyu (Korean Wave).

Sports Evolve Through Technology and Advance as an Industry

The “2026 Seoul International Sports & Leisure Industry Show (SPOEX),” jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources (MOTIR), and cohosted by the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO) and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), will take place at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, from March 26 to 29. Going beyond a conventional exhibition, this year’s event will serve as a comprehensive platform for experiencing the latest sports industry technologies and trends firsthand and connecting them to business opportunities.

MCST Minister Inspects Safety Preparedness at BTS Gwanghwamun Concert Site

On the morning of March 20 (Friday), Minister CHAE Hwi-young of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) visited the Gwanghwamun concert site, where the BTS comeback concert will take place on March 21, and the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History, where the MCST Emergency Operations Center will be established, to inspect preparations and the safety management system.

BTS Concert to Serve as a Festival Showcasing K-Culture to the World

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in recognition of BTS’s global cultural influence, will launch special programs from March 20 in partnership with five major national cultural institutions—the National Museum of Korea, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, the National Folk Museum of Korea, the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History, and the National Library of Korea —to offer visitors traveling to Korea for the group’s March 21 comeback concert a deeper experience of K-Culture.
