The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Yu In Chon, MCST), in collaboration with the Korea Craft & Design Foundation (President Chang Dong Kwang, KCDF) host the Korea Craft Week 2025 from May 16 (Friday) to 25 (Sunday). Now in its eighth year, the Korea Craft Week is a craft culture festival that features a variety of programs, including exhibitions, hands-on experiences, sales and lectures, to popularize the beauty and value of crafts and spread craft culture.

Korea Celebrates May 15 as the First National Commemorative Day for King Sejong, the Great Teacher of the Nation

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Yu In Chon, MCST) hosted the 628th Anniversary of the Birth of King Sejong Event on May 14 (Wednesday) and 15 (Thursday) at Gwanghwamun Square and Gyeongbokgung Palace. This year’s event is particularly significant as it marks the first celebration of the official Birth Commemoration Day of King Sejong the Great (May 15), which was designated on November 19, 2024. Minister Yu In Chon and First Vice Minister Yong Ho Seong attended the commemorative events to celebrate the day with the public.

Korea to Hold Comprehensive Hallyu Festival for People All Around the World in June

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Yu In Chon, MCST), in collaboration with the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, will hold the 2025 MyK FESTA from June 19 (Thursday) to 22 (Sunday) in the Olympic Park area of Songpa-gu, Seoul, including KSPO DOME (the former Olympic Gymnastics Arena) and the Handball Stadium. The large-scale, comprehensive Hallyu festival will bring together Hallyu fans and K-content and related industry stakeholders at home and abroad.

Advance Legislation Notice of Criteria to Determine Foreign Game Companies to Designate Domestic Agent

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Yu In Chon, MCST) announced that the advance legislation notice of a draft amendment to the Enforcement Decree (Decree) of the Game Industry Promotion Act (Act), which focuses on clarifying the criteria for determining foreign game companies subject to the requirement to designate a domestic agent, will be posted from Thursday, April 24 to Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
