“2024 Korea Art Festival” Unites Three Art Cities: Gwangju, Busan, Seoul

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST) together with Gwangju City, Busan Metropolitan City, and Seoul Metropolitan Government will host Korea Art Festival in autumn 2024. Accordingly, on April 22 (Mon), Minister YU was joined by mayors from Gwangju and Busan and acting first vice mayor of Seoul, Gwangju Biennale, Busan Biennale, Korea Gallery Association, Frieze Seoul, Korea Arts Management Service, Korea Tourism Organization, Korea Railroad Corporation, and Korea Airports Corporation to announce a Joint Declaration for the Successful Hosting of the 2024 Korea Art Festival at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul.

“K-Music” Connects the World with Its Diverse Sounds

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST) is conducting various events throughout the year aimed at promoting “K-Music” internationally. These events are centered around overseas Korean Cultural Centers, which collaborate with leading local cultural and arts organizations to plan joint concerts and collaborative performances. This initiative introduces a variety of Korean music genres, including classical, traditional, and jazz, to international audiences.

Marking D-100 Days to Go for 2024 Paris Summer Olympics: Supporting Athlete’s Dreams

The Second Vice Minister JANG Mi Ran of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) visited the Jincheon National Training Center on the morning of April 17 (Wed) to encourage the national team preparing for the “2024 Paris Summer Olympics” which opens on July 26, marking 100 days from the event. The visit also included the President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC) LEE Kee Heung, Team Leader JUNG Kang Sun, Center Director JANG Jae Keun, and officials from the sports federations participating in the Olympics.

Korea-Africa Summit Set for Success with Visits to Côte d’Ivoire and Egypt

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST) First Vice Minister JEON Byeong Geuk visited Côte d’Ivoire and Egypt from April 12 (Fri) to April 17 (Wed) to encourage active participation and discuss cultural cooperation enhancement for the upcoming Korea-Africa Summit in Seoul this June. The summit, themed “The Future We Make Together: Shared Growth, Sustainability, and Solidarity,” marks the first multilateral summit between Korea and African nations and is scheduled for June 4 to 5.
