A Fair for Various Local Contents Industries in Korea

2021 Next Content Fair to be held from November 11 to13 in Busan
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister HWANG Hee, MCST) hosts and the Korea Creative Content Agency (President CHO Hyun-rae, KOCCA) organizes the 2021 NEXT CONTENT FAIR from November 11 through 13 in BEXCO, Busan. This event is sponsored by Busan Metropolitan City. Marking the 4th year of this event, the exhibition is held in hybrid event considering the COVID-19. The fair will give visitors chances to explore best creative contents in Korea and to discover the future of Korea’s creative content industry. The local content exhibition is held both online and on-site, where there are many opportunities and events to attract viewers and participants. In the fair, there will be a total of 154 enterprises and 249 booths displaying the representative regional contents.
The Next Content Fair is special in that it focuses on the regional content and establishing the necessary infrastructure. This fair will also support the contents industry to proactively respond toward the fast evolving digital economy and to further grow regional contents industries. As specialized content fair on regional basis, the fair has opened up the chances for provinces and cities in Korea to take part in the exhibition prior to the opening of this year exhibition.
The event has two pillars: Community Center, which has an exhibition or experience using excellent performance of regional special contents and exhibition of representing of local company, or running future-oriented promotion center. The second pillar is contents special center, showing community characters, illustration centers, Busan Animation Special Center.
The hybrid event includes diverse areas of the cultural contents, such as publishing, cartoons, characters, animations, game, immersive content, broadcasts, commercials, movies and music and performances. For two days on November 11 and 12, there is a special space for the B2B marketing, where business meetings will happen between buyers and investors to be connected both via on-and-offline. Talk concert will be a special venue where writers and producers share their stories of working in creative content industry. Writers will also have their business opportunities to be matched with investors and buyers (online). Furthermore, IR pitching introduces content creation companies to investors. In addition to the main events, there are also interesting side events for the participants, including live stream concerts from local artists, and short-form video content contest.
