The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST) and the Korea Tourism Organization (Acting President SEO Young Choong, KTO) will host the first Korea Accommodation Sale Festa of the year to promote regional tourism and boost domestic demand during the March “Travel Month”. One million accommodation discount vouchers for 2025 will be issued in three phases – spring in March, summer in June, autumn in October – to encourage domestic travel instead of overseas trips and spread demand throughout the year. The first sale of 300,000 vouchers will begin on February 28 (Friday).
KRW 20,000 vouchers for bookings between KRW 20,000 and KRW 70,000, and KRW 30,000 vouchers for booking over KRW 70,000
The first round sale will be available from 10 AM on February 28 on a first-come first-served basis, with a limit of one voucher per person through 42 online travel agencies (OTAs). The sale ends when all vouchers are sold out. The vouchers can be redeemed for accommodation outside the Seoul Metropolitan Area (i.e., Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and Incheon) from February 28 (Friday) to April 6 (Sunday), based on check-in date. The KRW 20,000 vouchers can be used for bookings of accommodation between KRW 20,000 and KRW 70,000, along with the KRW 30,000 vouchers for bookings over KRW 70,000. Eligible accommodations include domestic lodging facilities such as hotels, condominiums, resorts, and pensions, and unregistered accommodations and day-use are excluded.
Detailed information on voucher usage is available on the 2025 Korea Spring Accommodation Sale Festa official website. Inquiries can also be handled at the call center (1670-3980).
KIM Geun Ho, Director-General of Tourism Industry Policy at MCST, commented that “we hope the accommodation vouchers will encourage citizens to enjoy the spring season across the country at a reduced cost. We plan to provide additional benefits in upcoming sales, such as additional discounts for consecutive stays, to help travelers experience local charms over longer stays.”
