Date Apr 19, 2024

The Second Vice Minister JANG Mi Ran of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) visited the Jincheon National Training Center on the morning of April 17 (Wed) to encourage the national team preparing for the “2024 Paris Summer Olympics” which opens on July 26, marking 100 days from the event. The visit also included the President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC) LEE Kee Heung, Team Leader JUNG Kang Sun, Center Director JANG Jae Keun, and officials from the sports federations participating in the Olympics.

The 33rd Summer Olympic Games will be held in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11. This will be the third time in 100 years that Paris has hosted the Summer Olympics, following the 1900 and 1924 Games. This year, around 15,000 athletes from 200 countries will compete for 329 gold medals across 32 sports.

Vice Minister JANG noted, “This year is significant as the Paris Olympics will highlight the dedication and effort of our national athletes and coaches. While achieving good results is crucial, competing without regrets after intense preparation is equally important. We hope our athletes can fully embrace the global sports festival, the Olympics, focusing on the experience as much as the medals.” She added, “The MCST and the KSOC are committed to enhancing the treatment and training environment to support our athletes’ continued dedication. We support our national team in delivering spectacular performances on their dream stage at the Olympics.”
