On March 19 (Tue), Vice Minister JANG Mi Ran of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), together with Acting President SEO Young Chung of the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) and Starbucks Korea CEO SON Jeong Hyeon, attended the commemorative ceremony for the “Ten Starbucks branches in 2023–2024 Visit Korea Year” at the Starbucks The Bukhansan branch in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul. This event marks a significant step in promoting the “Visit Korea Year” campaign.

Following a business agreement signed in November last year regarding the “2023–2024 Visit Korea Year” campaign, the KTO and Starbucks Korea have been organizing various events to encourage eco-friendly travel and promote the “Visit Korea Year.” To increase awareness, promotional posters and videos for the campaign have been displayed in roughly 1,900 Starbucks locations nationwide. In addition, eco-bags and tumblers are being distributed to minimize the use of disposable products and support eco-friendly travel practices. This ceremony is part of the collaboration, with signboards promoting “2024 Visit Korea Year” and eco-friendly travel being installed at the ten distinctive Starbucks locations across the country.

Vice Minister JANG stated, “Visiting this Starbucks store, where one can enjoy the magnificent view of Bukhansan Mountain, feels like a mini vacation. We hope that both domestic and international tourists will find moments of rest and rejuvenation at these Ten Starbucks Stores during their visit to Korea.” She added, “As the Visit Korea Year campaign moves to its second year, the Ministry plans to continue partnering with the private sectors to organize various events that will enhance the attractiveness of Korean tourism, including the Korea Beauty Festival in June and the Hallyu Festival in October.”
